The park lies next to a lake where windsurfers enjoy their sport. The beach at Muizenberg is a short walk from the park where the warm water
of the Mozambique current can still be felt.
All the sites are grassed and in close proximity to the ablution blocks. Trees line the rows of sites to protect you from the strong
South-Easter winds and there is a hall for indoor activities. Bungalows may be hired.
The security of the park has definitely been improved quite a lot and patrols were noted at all hours of the night. The park is very large which made forming a sort of Laager possible and we had plenty of privacy. The children also had plenty of space to play ball games without interfering with anyone else's privacy.
They had made an attempt to mow the grass and if the lawns are kept low, the park will look even neater. The ablutions were plentiful and very clean as they were cleaned a few times each day. The only problem we encountered was that the geyser in the ablution block closest to us had broken down during the week and we had to walk quite a distance to another one for showering. They assured us the problem would be rectified as soon as possible.
Things to do in the area include, canoeing or paddle skiing etc in the vlei, (bring your own), super tube and pool about 1 km away in Muizenberg and of course the large flea market about 2 km away. On the whole, the general feeling was that we would include the park on our list of parks to visit.
